Welcome to Dalvi Hospital

A friend of poor and deprived, Dr. Bal Pandurang Dalvi served the sick selflessly. Throughout his life he served sick people belonging to poor and deprived class. He had always been serious about the health of the women and children. He was as a ray to hope to the helpless people. But his life was cut short in an accident on May 19 - 1945. Shocked of his sudden demise, mournful friends and citizens of the city decided to erect a health service center to keep his memories alive. Hence, contemporary parliamentarian Anusuyabai Kale. Seth Gandalal Patani, Dr. M.B. Joshi, Eknath Patwardhan, N.B. Khare, K.A. Pote, M.B. Dolake, D.V. Wachasundar, Mahadeorao Shiwankar, G.P. Songade and Pramilatai Kale came forward to give the concept a concrete shape. The dream project of the said countrymen started taking shape at a 90 thousand sq.ft. land at Garoba Maidan in Eastern Nagpur, beside telephone Exchange Square in 1953. Efforts of the people behind the project, bore fruit and a hospital building emerged on the hospital. Health services to the sick women and children got started first. As the time passed, steady and expanded health services got provided to woman, children, poor and deprived and quality oriented health services provided by the hospital, earned a good name in the area. It was felt later that the old building was is insufficient to meat the increasing demand of the services of the hospital. Then in 1996, under the president ship of the Balbir Singh Renu, It was decided to construct of a new planned building as per required standard. In 1997, on 11th October all specious day of Vijayadashmi, ‘bhoomipoojan’, was performed at the hands of Shri. Nitin Gadkari (Now BJP National President). On 21st October 2006, the new hospital building was inaugurated at the hands of Gujrat Chief Minister Shri. Narendra Modi. Presently 23000 outdoor patients 1400 indoor patients are served in the Hospital Annually, Hospital renders its services in different other health related activities, such as mother counseling center, nursing training, etc. Here, in the hospital, there are different medical departments such as Obstetrics and Gynecology Department, Pediatrics Department, Pathology, Medicine and Cardiology Department, Plastic and General Surgery Department, Pediatrics Intensive Care Unit for children and newborns etc. Specialist to the needy people. Hospital has been provided with an ambulance by state health department, besides, ambulance service, provided by parliamentarian Vilas Muttemwar and Nagpur Nagrik Sahakari Bank is available at a nominal charge. Hospital, besides its services at the center, avail its free health services to the poor and deprived, through camps in villages around city and in its sub-urb. Hospital is engaged in blindness prevention campaign with “Lite Up in the Life”. In previous year, the hospital is rendered its services to 15145 mothers and children, belonging to different cells of an society.

Vision

Dr. Dalvi Memorial Hospital and Research Centre Trust is keen to established an ICU for Newborn Babies, Cardiology Department, will ICCU, Blindness prevention endeavor in the form of Caretoplasty and so on. It also looks on to start B.Sc. course in nursing, starts a Physiotherapy Unit, and work on a hospital development scheme. It is worthy to be mentioned have that for development programmes of the hospital donations are sought from kind people. Donors would get benefits under tax laws, Donors would avail of the benefits of 12AA of Income tax law.
